MG Deathscythe~part 2

 photo 20161211_222450_zpsjmjn2doc.jpg

Painted the head. Kinda kept it close to the tv version color scheme. Added grey to break up the black some. I like the way it looks. The eyes came out pretty good.

 photo 20161212_010344_zpsq4mvrit9.jpg

The neck area part. I painted a black base and carefully sprayed white over it. It gives it a bit of shaded look.

 photo 20161212_011506_zpsm455tsam.jpg

The backpack I turned from a dark blue to white. The thrusters done in chrome silver. In the front of the backpack vents use the color too. With the surrounding part done in black.

 photo 20161212_013117_zpsest8vghj.jpg

The chest was pretty easy to paint. The parts were pretty easy to paint since it required very little masking for me to do. Still more painting to go. But so far it is coming along pretty smoothly.

Lurking in the works.

Just some updates of what  has been going on. I have a MG Crossbone Gundam X1 ver ka, just have been keeping the kit pretty simple. No mods to it really. Looking to finish it up in a couple weeks.

 photo IMG_20160517_011118_zpseyshoadi.jpg

I did purchase a Gouf Revive. Which is almost done. The seams that the shoulder armor did have. I have removed them from it. The kit is at a point that it just needs a topcoat put on it.
The Shizouka hobby recently ended revealing some interesting kits this year. I was completely impressed with the Hyaku shiki revive. So I am planning on building that. I’ve been waiting since the Qubeley was annouced to get this. I am still not sure if I want the RG Sinanju or not yet. While it is neat that kit uses a plated gold and gloss red for parts. I do not think I am that big of a fan of the suit. I am on the fence about that one.

 photo IMG_9628_zpsczglsrx6.jpg
The Hyaku Shiki revive on the other hand. Is looking awesome. It doesn’t really need to be gold plated. I am glad they are using some of the gimmicks from the MG Hyaku Shiki 2.0. The interchangable heads are pretty cool. I am soo using the search mode face. Overall the show was not too bad at all. Still have a Force Impulse to get and a Gyan.

Cause my work schedule has me soo busy. I am going to change the way stuff works on here soon. The update posts may be a bit less now. The way finished kits go up will remain the same. The posts about WIP and Etc. Are going to shrink a bit. Cause it will be simpler for me to maintain. I so far though do not plan on changing the Layout at all though.

RG 1/144 Wing Gundam EW

Well I purchased the RG 1/144 Wing Gundam EW sometime after the New Year. I actually had plans to build two of these. One in good condition and another really wrecked looking. I was waiting a bit to snap this together then after so many days of bad weather. The MG Marasai project I was working on was slowed down horribly thanks to the snow storm we had here. I let my curiosity get the better of me. Then that is how I ended up snapping together the shield.

 photo IMG_20160127_092743_zps3r1yg3bb.jpg

I like this shield. It holds the beam saber pretty well and doesn’t do the arm sag thing. Cause it is the right weight for the kit.

So of course I do not stop at the shield. I do the leg construction which is not much different from the RG Wing Zero EW legs. Which not surprising since they share the same frame.

 photo IMG_20160127_114616_zpsyodk8zdn.jpg

The crotch was just the standard RG crotch assembly. Nothing to fancy here also no color changes at this point.

 photo IMG_20160127_121811_zpsdfueibf8.jpg

The chest is where it starts having different color parts from the Wing Zero EW. The Wing Gundam EW has yellow where in a spot where the Wing Zero Would have blue for the chest.

 photo IMG_20160127_132218_zpsgstgthnl.jpg

The vulcans on the shoulders have a bit of yellow on them. I did put them together but I’m not putting them in til I paint them.

So of course after the chest what do I do next… The Buster Rifle. I was curious to how it went together and just how long it was. The main part of it seems to piece together very easily. Just 2 parts on the inside some small grey hook piece and a large yellow piece in the middle. Add the other side.

 photo IMG_20160127_132218_zpsgstgthnl.jpg

And of course add the barrel.
 photo IMG_20160127_150114_zpsxigiaswn.jpg

And you got your rifle.

 photo IMG_20160127_150101_zpsnz5lizfh.jpg

Last part to go on the end of the rifle. This arm/head cover.

 photo IMG_20160127_150427_zpsimtaymgp.jpg

 photo IMG_20160127_150528_zpsk0bdqunn.jpg

 photo IMG_20160127_150553_zpsuvjsqiee.jpg

Then you can add the Rounds to rifle. The nubs here do not seem to be that bad. I had thought they might be a large hassle but not really.

 photo IMG_20160127_150848_zpsxxjnga49.jpg

Be careful when adding the rounds in. The fit is kinda tight and feels like it bends the plastic a little.

 photo IMG_20160127_151447_zpsusihdal1.jpg

So ok, now I finally move on to the arms on this kit. Which is much like Wing Zero EW again to a point.

 photo IMG_20160127_152952_zpsjksymfhc.jpg

 photo IMG_20160127_153016_zpsnvq6wedg.jpg

 photo IMG_20160127_153432_zpsugdxf5lw.jpg

It is neat that some parts on this kit come undergated.

 photo IMG_20160127_153740_zps9r4p6ei5.jpg

The Wing Gundam EW has yellow claws the Wing Zero EW does not have. These parts are very thin. They are also kind of flimsy, approach carefully.

 photo IMG_20160127_154844_zpshnflszr8.jpg

 photo IMG_20160127_155149_zpsfp0yhcg3.jpg

It doesn’t take long to finish up both of the arms.

The backpack is also different. It sports different more flat backpack as opposed to the a more blocky one the Wing Zero has.

 photo IMG_20160127_181617_zpss0ow0kmc.jpg

 photo IMG_20160127_181633_zpseifqh1hg.jpg

No angel wings on this MS. It just sports a different set of more bird like wings. Sorry for the upside down photo. I do not know why it came that way. but you can see all the movable parts in the inside of the Wings on this kit. That get stuffed between another blue Wing part.

 photo IMG_20160127_184225_zpsvsjbwdga.jpg

 photo IMG_20160127_185230_zpsfrm4ewhl.jpg

I thought I was gonna have to deal with some pretty ugly nub marks here. But nothing like that happened at all.

 photo IMG_20160127_185403_zpsje0ttiou.jpg

 photo IMG_20160127_185756_zpss9acfj9a.jpg

The last few parts of the Wing. Just are some yellow pieces that go on the outside of the wing.

 photo IMG_20160127_191051_zpsw8n8u78x.jpg

Wings alll Ready.

 photo IMG_20160127_191207_zpsds7mrlwa.jpg

I actually snap in the backpack first. Then I put on the Wings. It felt like a simpler way to do it, instead of mounting everything on the backpack. Then it is all assembled minus a few parts I wanted to wait on adding. That buster rifle is soo long.

 photo IMG_20160127_215929_zpsnpnzissc.jpg

This kit also transforms, It is a nice simple one. It is also one of the many things I like about the Wing Gundam.

 photo IMG_20160128_013233_zpsbigo5pa7.jpg

This kit and Wing Zero are easy to place on action base since the RG Adapter clips right onto the backpack of this kit.

 photo IMG_20160128_020147_zpsnefqwxk3.jpg

 photo IMG_20160128_020211_zpsjnhv8ubr.jpg

This kit holds that large buster rifle pretty well. My kit doesn’t currently cause I stupidly miss cut the trigger hand that this holds. The Drei Zwerg kit does work with this kit. But it does add a ton of weight to it. You can’t mount the Drei Zwerg on the additional rifle rounds like the manga without some kind modification. So it does make a bit difficult to give it a hawk talon look in bird mode. This is though my favorite kit of the Wing Gundam EW so far.

WIP-MG 1/100 Marasai

Starting up 2016 is the MG Marasai I received as gift in the Reddit Secret Santa from Mattmunster. The Marasai is one of my favorite cyclops type mobile suits. I like the episode Reunion with the two marasai’s trying to act as one unit then it doesn’t work. The Marasai from Gundam U.C. is pretty cool too, to bad that the Sea Serpant weapon it was using in the episode it appeared in are on only the HG and P-Bandai Marasai Gundam UC kits. This is the initial build of this kit.

Going by the Manual order this time. So I start on the chest.

 photo IMG_20160104_135804_zpsj4zlhvsv.jpg

The Chest is the first thing to be built. Since I start out by placing the pilot in the seat and putting it together with the chest. I’m going to have a fun little trip taking it apart later to remove the pilot to paint it.
 photo IMG_20160104_135810_zpsnfsyukp8.jpg
 photo IMG_20160104_140750_zpsv9jy4hem.jpg

The way the shoulder works I think is pretty cool. But I’m guessing this comes from a kit way before it? I mean just the way it bends forward. I guess the 2.0 Zakus had this type of arm. I have one just haven’t looked at the manual like that yet.
 photo IMG_20160104_141825_zpsouutxgeb.jpg
 photo IMG_20160104_141850_zpsmzufo9lt.jpg

Then we just slide these on the previous section I put together. Add one part to secure them in. So far no real fights yet.
 photo IMG_20160104_142534_zpsm9qbqsra.jpg
 photo IMG_20160104_143002_zpsyu1khmlg.jpg

Til I start adding the darker red pieces. The Nubs on these parts are pretty annoying. They are pain to get clear. The salmon colored ones not so much.

 photo IMG_20160104_145237_zpsio1wt1bz.jpg

The first thing I do on the head is the green piping. These parts were annoying to cut and deal with. =_= They have large nubs on both sides after you take them off the runner. I try to clean up well. I probably need a better method for this one. The Zaku 2.0 runner with pipes looked more user friendly.
 photo IMG_20160104_160205_zps0a8ohzvb.jpg

I put together the rest of the head. I like the position of the mono eye control on it. That little grey tab lets you control which way the mono eye goes. I think that it is pretty neat.
 photo IMG_20160104_215904_zpsthdawtkl.jpg
Clear bottom for a LED to Shine through it.
 photo IMG_20160104_215853_zps787ghlww.jpg
I just finish the rest of it up.
 photo IMG_20160104_221256_zpsxccqbmrd.jpg
 photo IMG_20160104_221520_zpskd0kbqyv.jpg

Arm work time.
 photo IMG_20160104_223038_zpsgcmaum0y.jpg

 photo IMG_20160104_231905_zpsekjkbiev.jpg

I felt the arms were pretty simple. The shield for the arm on the other hand. I thought was a bit interesting. It has its own sort frame to it. It is cool. Deal with darker red nubs was annoying yet again but whatever. I’m painting this anyway.
 photo IMG_20160105_005300_zpsftbe3urf.jpg
 photo IMG_20160105_005323_zpszdo1e5pn.jpg

The other shoulder has the individual spikes for the round shoulder. That have to be cut off and put in one by one. But it is very easy to do. Upper body is  done.  The red pieces are annoying to deal with the nubs. Some felt like they could used some better placement. Still fun though . I did have that same issue with HGUC Unicorn Marasai too long ago. So I don’t think I should be too surprised.

Updates and New kits.

Its been a bit since I updated. I recently got a job not too long ago. I was busy with work. The holiday season made it very busy for me. Before that I finished up the HGFC Shining Gundam and was almost done with the SD Ex Standard Aile Strike.

The Aile pack is now painted and all that is left to paint of it is the shield.

The Shining Gundam just needs its photoshoot done.

The HGUC Victory Gundam is pretty much done, but I did not like the dash pack that much. I am going to get it a different weapon. I was looking into a caldwitch for it, but I’m still searching around for a weapon.

The Barbatos is still not touched, I still am searching my house for the kit I need to take parts from for it. The master commish has been slowed up since I was hunting paints for it.

I recently did the Reddit Gunpla secret santa and I had recieved the MG Marasai as a gift from somebody.

I also bought the MG Wing Proto Zero.

I have some other kits coming in the mail. A MG Exia, MG Tallgeese, Revive RX178 MKIIs and a LED set to say a few. I thought it made the secret santa gift waayy more awesome since I had a LED set for it. I also have an Academy F-14 I bought a few weeks back. More kits to come soon.

HGUC Crossbone Gundam X1 Kai WIP 2

Got the chance to work on this some more. So I got the back thrusters done and did do some seam work on the legs. I still have to top coat it. This is all I’ve done so far.

I did do work on the seams on the legs. This photo is before I did the other leg.

Well just have to topcoat, I still have to do the weapons. But it is going well so far.

HGUC Crossbone X-1 Kai WIP 1

Started work on the 1/144 HGUC Crossbone Gundam X1 Kai. I do the usual snap build. Then I start taking it apart and begin coloring it.

I paint the red areas of the head first, so I do not have a difficult time trying get these spots with color later on. I then spray paint these two pieces.

While I was waiting for the out side of the face to dry. I do the lining of the face and paint the eyes. I go with a solid color here, no metallic for eyes or combination of paint and sticker here.

The outside of the head pieces have finished drying. So I can put the head back together and move on to the body. I will have photos of the head and body work up next time. Til then later.
